A ban on travel to Liberia has been lifted in the United States and the United Kingdom, according to a new proclamation issued by President Donald Trump on Friday.

The proclamation said the travel restrictions were lifted on March 1 in the U.S. and March 5 in the UK.

Liberia has been a sanctuary for Ebola patients, refugees and migrants.

The new travel restrictions have been in place since October, but the Liberian government has denied any ties to the Ebola outbreak, and it has denied reports that it had been harboring Liberian nationals who were infected.
