Travel restrictions have been imposed for the United States, New York and Connecticut as a precautionary measure to keep people safe following the New York City Marathon bombings.

According to a post on Twitter by Travel.com, the restriction applies to commercial air travel within the continental U.S. and New York state.

The travel restrictions are not intended to be a travel restriction, but rather a precaution to ensure safety for everyone traveling.

Travel restrictions are in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., New York time, for Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New Orleans, NewYork City, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Virginia.
